POSITION SUMMARY

Design, install, support, maintain and monitor computing, storage and networking technologies.  This includes the virtual server and enterprise storage platforms, as well as the wide area network, cloud/internet-based communications, remote access, wireless networks, and the applications and infrastructure that enable our employees to service our customers and achieve the bank’s operational and strategic objectives using reliable, secure and scalable technologies. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Achieve strategic, regulatory compliance, availability and security objectives through:
  • Design and manage a scalable and resilient enterprise architecture that supports the bank’s network security, availability and performance objectives.
  • Maintain network and server room diagrams, internal and external data flows and network topologies of the entity’s IT environment to ensure geographically diverse business units operate effectively.
  • Establish, maintain, document and monitor utilization and status of network architecture & infrastructure, including servers, storage, appliances, hardware, virtual infrastructure, wireless, LAN and WAN networks.
  • Establish, maintain and support network access, using least privileged access principles, including active directory, group policy, email, MS365, wireless and remote access.
  • Ensure the networks are protected from malware, viruses and evolving cyber threats.
  • Identify cybersecurity threat vectors and associated risks; research and recommend cybersecurity improvements to mitigate risks to acceptable levels. 
  • Install/maintain firewalls and manage access policies to the internet, SaaS applications and cloud resources.
  • Ensure business resilience with effective backups and replication routines, and periodic business continuity testing to achieve RTO and RPO objectives.
  • Work with third-party providers to support the bank’s networks and applications.
  • Develop and maintain architecture policies; evaluate compliance with frameworks, recommend improvements and provide budgetary quotes to support new projects and initiatives.
  • Support asset management best practices, including management of hardware and software maintenance contracts.
  • Comply with established change management policies to minimize end user impacts.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders when scheduled and unscheduled system outages occur.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to employees.
  • Support off hours on-call on a rotating schedule.
  • Manage, develop, guide and mentor IT team members.
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in networking, virtualization, security, storage, server, cloud data management and emerging technologies.
  • Must complete BSA, AML, and other Regulatory and Continuing Education as assigned
  • Must adhere to and maintain bank systems consistent with bank standards, procedures, policies, best practices and regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.

Education/Experience/Skills & Abilities

  • Associates degree or equivalent certifications in Network Engineering (Comp TIA Network+, VCP, CCNA).
  • Minimum of 4 years managing networks and enterprise architecture.
  • Minimum of 4 years managing and developing desktop, network and cybersecurity teams.
  • Core banking experience preferred.

Technical Expertise Required

  • Network, application and data architecture design and management.
  • Windows Server, MS SQL Server, VMWare, Windows 11, enterprise storage.
  • Router, Switch, Firewall, IPS/IDS, Web Filter, VPN, Wireless and Cellular Technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, PKI, Group Policy, Windows Server & desktop hardening best practices.
  • Cloud technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, InTune and EntraID.
  • Demonstrated skills in configuration management, data management, information management, network security, IT architecture, infrastructure design, systems integration and systems lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of network protocols (QoS, PfR, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, SFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, TrustSec).
  • Knowledge in SDWAN/LAN/Cloud and transport technologies (ethernet, frame relay, SDWAN).
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Help Desk Ticketing systems and change management processes.
  • Backup and replication solutions.
